PRI (“pry”), Priority response Information
The PRI program was developed to improve three elements of law enforcement and fire/medical response to an active shooter/threat and/or mass casualty event.
Teamwork - Effective Communication - Smart Tactics
With this system, law enforcement personnel will have the ability to establish a number of critical elements prior to an incident. As schools, churches, medical facilities, businesses and government buildings are all fixed, stationary structures, we are able to analyze and document important information prior to an incident. This information can then be provided to law enforcement officers during their response.
Dispatch will have the ability to provide critical assistance to emergency responders without tying up radio channels, providing for effective communication and improved teamwork. This will also aid first responders as they are establishing incident command upon initial arrival. Incident command can be established faster, allowing for a unified command structure to also be established more rapidly. Law enforcement will have the ability to gain quicker access to secured facilities, locating and stopping the threat faster. This will ultimately lead to a faster, more organized and deliberate response by law enforcement, paired with fire/medical personnel, to triage, treat and extricate victims for further medical treatment. There is no time to wait, when preservation of life is priority number one.
